Inspired by Paul Frehner's stunning work "Corpus", originally commissioned by Soundstreams Canada for TorQ Percussion Quartet and the Stuttgart Chamber Choir, TorQ and the Elora Singers commissioned three more works from notable composers Carmen Braden, Annika Socolofsky and Melody McKiver. The result is an album filled with emotionally charged and sonically arresting music that pairs the Elora Singer's smooth, flexible sound with TorQ's broad palette of percussive textures.

In 2013 we loaded up a van and all our own vehicles with about 90% of the instruments we owned, and went for a week to an old Orange lodge (also the former residence of Group of Seven member Franz Johnston) in Wyebridge, Ontario. We unpacked everything, set it up, and spent the next four days recording different groups of instruments, eating, drinking delicious scotch and hanging out with our friend, confidente, engineer, producer and overall musical savant Ray Dillard. The outcome was this album. Each disc has 11 tracks, in the same order of instrument setups, but with different results.

We commissioned Nicole Lizée's Katana of Choice for drum set solo and percussion quartet with our good friend Ben Reimer, and were pleased to be able to record it with him as part of his debut album.
